I am running for Sheriff with a passion for "Fairness, Justice, and Change". Moreover, I still have a passion to help people. I believe that as we are all responsible for our actions and ourselves, we are also responsible for each other. I believe that we are our brother’s keeper.
During my career with the Sheriff's Office, I both applied myself as well as prepared myself to be a well-rounded candidate for the Office of Sheriff. I have assumed leadership roles and been elected to leadership roles since I took the oath of office.
An important part of being a leader is to prepare and prioritize among other things. Therefore, I gladly assumed other tasks whenever I could and took the steps to become a supervisor and gain the in-depth knowledge and experience that I never would have gained had I remained a deputy.
I prepared myself to be able to take and pass the Sergeant exam and later the Lieutenant exam and become a supervisor for thirteen years and part of the administration of the Sheriff's office. In addition, I gained essential attributes that make me a quality candidate for the Sheriff of Will County.
Being part of the administration has given me a more distinct and transparent comprehension of the long term as well as the day-to-day operations of that office.
Some goals are:
- I will prioritize domestic violence intervention and prevention
- I will be fiscally responsible
- I will eliminate unnecessary job positions
- I will add deputies to the patrol division and the Adult Detention
Facility
- I will improve response times to areas outside the Joliet vicinity
- I will not tolerate financial waste
- I will focus a high level of concentration on gangs and drugs
- Members of the Sheriff's Office will be able to support the
candidate of their choice without the fear of being ostracized or persecuted.
Thank you for your support Ed Bradley Lieutenant, retired
